So Biomass can be a little bit tricky to integrate in highly populated areas, but it is perfect for stand alone homes with gardens or farms. You can use all the composite from your animals and crops to turn it into energy.

Biomass Boilers generate Carbon Dioxide as well. However, it is considered as Biogenic CO2 which is fuel which absorb CO2 along its lifecycle before being burnt and is considered renewable ina way. However, care have to be taken not to specially obtain biomass to produce energy. For example, the wood pellets may be obtained from wood wastes collected in municipal waste colelction but it should not come from chopping the trees specifically for obtaining wood. That defeats the purpose of conservation.

The best part about this energy is although that it is renewable, its not intermittent like solar and wind. You can control the flow of water from the dams according to your needs! This makes it one of the most significant renewable energy sources on the table. This is an amazing energy source but its main challenge is the location. You need to be close to flowing water to do so. This is most commonly used an a major electrical source on country level, creating dams, etc to harness the energy. There are some examples that work on a smaller scale for households but are not that applicable.

Renewable energy DOES NOT IMPROVE energy efficiency. However, it does play a part in reducing climate change in terms of decarbonisation. The choice of a low-carbon alternative should always be encouraged in a bid to change from a fossil fuel based energy system and that is the essence of the Energy Transition.
