Influencer marketing is a powerful way to reach your target audience, but it can also be a costly and time-consuming strategy. How can you make the most of your influencer content and extend its lifespan beyond the initial campaign? Recycling and repurposing are two effective methods to maximize the reach and value of influencer content, without compromising its authenticity and quality. In this article, you will learn how to recycle and repurpose influencer content for different platforms, formats, and purposes.
Recycling influencer content means sharing the same content across multiple channels or platforms without making any significant changes to it. For example, you could post an influencer’s Instagram post on your own feed, or embed their YouTube video on your blog. This can be a great way to increase your brand awareness, exposure, and credibility, as well as leverage the influencer's existing audience and engagement. However, when recycling influencer content, it’s important to take some caution and follow best practices. This includes asking for permission and giving proper credit, aligning the content with your brand voice, message, and goals, selecting the right platforms and timing for your audience, and adding your own captions, hashtags, or calls to action.

We know that influencer marketing is a huge industry and not cheap. It's advantageous to create content that can be evergreen and live on various platforms. The only issue with this is getting permission from the influencer but also paying them accordingly. Influencers should be charging brands for repurposing and using their content. Reposting or running ads with someone else's content without compensation or permission will not fly and should not be okay from an influencers POV. Best thing would be to hire an influencer for a campaign and factor in rights to repurpose and use content as you please in perpetuity while paying the influencer for that.
Repurposing influencer content involves transforming the content into a different format or for a different purpose, while maintaining the core message and value. For instance, you can turn an influencer's blog post into a podcast episode, or use their testimonial in a case study. Repurposing influencer content can help create diverse and relevant content for your audience, as well as optimize your content for SEO and conversions. Nevertheless, it also requires some creativity and planning, such as identifying the key takeaways and benefits of the original content, selecting the most suitable format and channel for your new content, adding your own insights, data, or examples, and updating the content to match your brand style and tone.

For example, turn a video into shorter clips for Instagram, quotes for Twitter, and blog posts for your website. 3. Break down longer influencer videos or articles into shorter, easily digestible pieces. These are more shareable and suitable for social media.

Use Your Social Content to Sell More Online | Are you struggling to generate inspiration and social proof?
Influencer marketing is not cheap, so repurposing is the best way to get great value and increase the ROI. Why just invest in acquisition, when you can use the same content for on-site conversion as well?
Recycling and repurposing influencer content can also pose some challenges, such as maintaining the quality and authenticity of the content. It is essential to ensure that the content remains relevant, accurate, and consistent, without losing its original appeal and personality. Additionally, you must avoid overusing the same content or repeating the same message, and make sure to offer something new and valuable to your audience each time. Lastly, tracking and analyzing the performance and results of your recycled and repurposed content can help measure the impact and ROI of the content, so you can compare them with your original content and goals.

While recycling and repurposing influencer content offer numerous benefits, they come with their set of challenges that brands and marketers should be aware of: 1. Lack of Freshness: Over-reliance on repurposed content can make your marketing seem stale. Balancing repurposed material with fresh, original content is crucial. 2. Audience Saturation: Repurposing the same content too frequently or across too many channels can lead to audience fatigue and decreased engagement. 3. Influencer Approval: Influencers may not always agree with the way their content is repurposed, leading to disagreements or strained relationships.

This is one area that some businesses need to remember to consider. As you grow, investing in your own content can bring a voice to your band on social media that can help actually to amplify influencer content you partner with. Onewheel does a great job of doing this with their Chief Evangelist Jack Mudd and using their customer's content mixed in with their own.
To maximize the benefits of recycling and repurposing influencer content, it's important to have a clear strategy and goal for your content, communicate and collaborate with influencers, experiment and test different content formats and channels, and monitor and optimize your content performance. Align your content with your overall marketing objectives and audience needs, involve influencers in the creation and approval process, use tools and platforms to create, edit, and distribute content easily, and measure metrics such as impressions, reach, engagement, conversions, and revenue. Learn from successes and failures to adjust your content strategy accordingly.
