It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of a startup where everyone is wearing multiple hats. It is very important to remember time for yourself, your family, and your friends in the midst of the swirl. I kept a consistent schedule when I started my last company and that helped me have regular time for self care. It is okay to work into the night on some nights but it cannot be every night. That is not sustainable and you may find over time that you are shifting to the "live to work" mindset.

Uncertainty is the one certainty of working in a start up. Start ups by nature are new, sometimes operating in a new space or disrupting an existing one. This inevitably brings with it lots of change and with that uncertainty. Being able to embrace that continuous change and navigate uncertainty will 100% stand you in good stead to be successful in a start up. My 2 top tips: 1 - 'Control the controlables' - Reflect on what are the elements you can control and what are the elements you literally have no control over. For the latter, try to not feed them with energy or attention. Direct that instead to what you can control. 2 - 'Fail Forwards' - Don't be scared of failing. As long as you are learning from it, you are moving forwards.
A positive attitude is essential for success in a startup, as it influences motivation, performance, and satisfaction. To cultivate a positive attitude, you should identify and challenge any negative thoughts and replace them with realistic and optimistic ones. Additionally, affirming your strengths and abilities, visualizing desired outcomes, and practicing gratitude and appreciation can help you develop a positive attitude. Doing so will enable you to cope with difficulties, overcome obstacles, and achieve your goals.
