Absolutely agree on this. Setting SMART goals for any collaboration, partnership or team work is a winning formula. However, many a times in real world organizations and professionals struggle to set such goals. Therefore, we need to apply a bit of reverse engineering to the project management. First defining what is the final outcome required or possible through this collaboration. Then within the team, based on strengths, and capabilities the tasks and responsibilities need to be assigned along with setting SMART goals. From my experience of sustainability consulting and building partnerships, it's crucial to write down and agree upon these responsibilities and SMART goals; so that in the end the sucess can be achieved and measured.

Learning (or exploring, in my words!) never ends! Just like how science is always evolving! There’s no one set way of seeking learning opportunities, but here are some suggestions that I personally prescribe to: 1/ Watch news and documentaries 2/ Read new books, news articles, opinion pieces 3/ Speak to other specialised experts in the field. For me, I constantly find new research and initiatives to feature on my Climate Connections podcast, and it’s through these conversations I find new things I didn’t know before. 4/ Go out! Yes, go out there and see things for yourself. Be it going to the beach to do cleanups, walking through a nature reserve to watch wildlife, or even observing what people throw into a recycling bin etc!
